DOP HEPA FILTER TESTING

DOP (Dispersed Oil Particulate) testing is the method used to test the integrity of HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor) filters used in H class vacuum cleaners and negative pressure fan units.  A generator is used to produce gas particles which are passed through the filter, any particles which penetrate the filter are detected by a monitor on the exhaust side. This test ensures the HEPA filter is functioning correctly and the equipment is not releasing dangerous fibres into the air through leakage or damage.

 

Equipment fitted with a HEPA filter that is used for asbestos work must undergo regular six monthly DOP testing.
